“openhouses #1″ the first outing by openhouse to ‘la ricarda’ by antonio bonet : architecture : barcelona
we held the first openhouses event on saturday, a visit to la ricarda by antonio bonet castellana. trying to organise a group of around 30 people and many different cars to visit the house just outside of barcelona, close to the beach, took some doing. but we all got there without any problems and started our tour by eleven am. i have owned a book about la ricarda for many years, but being lead around by marita gomis, own of the daughters of the family, who grew up there from when she was young was an amazing experience. all her stories about her family the architect and the building itself made you feel you were in living history. never have i been in a home that felt so perfect, in every dimension and in its beauty.this is how we should live. this is an openhouse. thank you to all those who came on saturday. all photos : andrew trotter
