OPENHOUSE was started by Andrew Trotter in June 2011, Barcelona. at first the OPENHOUSE was a shop where the concept was to feel like you are at home and surrounding yourself with things that you like. Good design, good craftmanship, good art, good food, and plants. to taste, touch and experience. the shop was to be different from the rest, a shop of design but with a natural unique feel, not over designed. bringing un-known names along with more familiar ones, to show case hidden talents and true modern day craftsmen and artists. the blog is to showcase the shop and the things that make us feel good. the shop had to close in august of 2012 due to bad economic times in spain.
But many things have grown from that beginning
OPENHOUSE blog/magazine was started while I was in the shop. it has become a place to put all the design, art and architecture, food and places that i love
Openhouse Project is where i open my home with Mari Luz Vidal and Nobu Kawagoe, to the public as a gallery, japanese kitchen and we write about people around the world who also open their homes to the public
now i am also working as an interior designer, and in creative/artistic direction for Lobster’s Day and Alex Carro
