born and raised in new york, orly genger is an artist unlike any other. using mainly knotted climbing rope, she fills rooms, creats forms, and voids, to play with the spaces, and has exhibited in many of the top galleries in america, including the museum of modern art. jaclyn mayer coming from the other side of the country, and studying in some of the best schools of art and design in america and london set up her own jewelry business in 2004. but what happens when they got together. is it jewelry? is it art? is it wearable art? maybe its all 3. i have to confess i had never heard of either of them until i saw a necklace in a shop window one day last year, and i was blown away. knotting climbing ropes with other threads and materials, metals and now rubber, they have created a line of jewelry that is art to wear. i am proud to be stocking orly genger by jaclyn mayer at openhouse, we only have a few pieces, but this will crow with time, and any pieces can be ordered also online. come and take a look, and try them on
