Curtain Wall House shigeru ban openhouse

for a long time i have loved the work of shigeru ban. as one of japan’s most well known architects he is always pushing the boundaries for new methods and new ways to live. he is very well known for his cardboard buildings, buildings who’s walls are also the cupboards and here his curtain wall house. this is a simple box of two floors with a car park underneath. the box has two sides of glass that can be completely opened, and wrapped around is a two floor balcony. due to the nature of the hot humid weather, he wanted to keep it open, but due to the high density of living the clients needed privacy while still being open. so he wrapped around a curtain. this is really an openhouse, and such a beautiful piece of architecture
