house : aires mateus architects : leiria portugal

todays sets of photos question what is the typical house. four walls two gable ends and a double pitched roof. i love this form. it is the form that a child draws when asked to draw a house. and i like architects that play with this form. this example is by aires mateus associados in leiria, portugal. with no visible windows, and half of the building underground, the light pours in through its cut out pieces.
