internal cubes : alhóndiga bilbao : architecture : philippe starck

exactly 100 years after being built, the alhóndiga in bilbao, a former wine depot was transformed by philippe starck into a community center holding cinemas, restaurant and cafe, shops, health center and swimming pool and exhibition center. using the same brick as the original building he places two cubes into the center held up  by columns, each of a different design. the spaces are architectural yet friendly, and the pool on the upper floor with the glass bottom is amazing.
